1. Welding energy equipment

Welding energy equipment is used to provide the energy needed for welding. Commonly used is a variety of arc welding power sources, also known as welding machines. It has a no-load voltage of 60~100 volts, a working voltage of 25~45 volts, and an output current of 50~1000 amperes. In manual arc welding, arc length often changes to cause welding voltage changes. In order to make the welding current stable, the external characteristic of the arc welding power source used should be a steep drop, that is, with the change of output voltage, the change of output current should be small. Arc welding power sources generally have an arcing transformer, dc arc welding generator, and arc welding rectifier. Arc welding transformers provide a wide range of applications. Dc arc welding generator provides direct current, which is more complicated to manufacture, consumes more materials, and is less efficient. It will be replaced by an arc welding rectifier gradually. Arc welding rectifier is a dc arc welding power source developed in the 1950s, using silicon diode or SCR as a rectifier. The transistorized arc welding power source with high power transistors that appeared in the 1960s can obtain higher control accuracy and excellent performance, but the cost is higher.

Resistance welding of the simpler welding energy equipment is resistance welding transformers, the no-load voltage range of 1 to 36 volts, the current from thousands to tens of thousands of amperes. Welding machines that use this type of welding energy equipment are called ac resistance welding machines. Other low-frequency resistance welding machines, dc pulse resistance welding machines, capacitor energy storage resistance welding machines, and secondary rectifier resistance welding machines.

2. Welding head

Its function is to convert the energy output of the welding energy equipment into welding heat, which is not broken into the welding material. At the same time, the head itself moves forward to achieve welding. Welding tongs for manual arc welding must be continuously fed manually down the electrode and moved forward to form a weld as the electrode melts.

The automatic welder has an automatic wire feeding mechanism and a head walking mechanism to move the head forward. Commonly used car type and suspension type heads are two kinds. The welding heads of resistance spot welding and projection weldings are electrodes and their pressure mechanism for applying pressure and electrification to the workpiece. Seam welding has a drive mechanism to drive the workpiece to move. Static and movable fixture and fixture clamping mechanisms, as well as moving fixture welding equipment and top forging mechanism are required for butt welding.

3. Welding control system

Its function is to control the whole welding process, including controlling the welding procedure and welding specification parameters. The general ac arc welding machine has no control system. Electronic circuit, digital circuit, and microprocessor control for high efficiency or precision welders.
